After tennis player hit in head with stray golf ball, Norwalk’s Oak Hills considers safety options

NORWALK — Officials at Oak Hills Park are considering installing netting or other safety equipment after a tennis player was struck in the head by a stray golf ball last year.

Peter Kryworuczko, a longtime member of the Oak Hills Tennis Club, was hit in the forehead while playing on one of the public golf course’s tennis courts last September, leaving him bloodied and bruised.

“One of my biggest fears came true,” he told the Oak Hills Park Authority, the public body that manages the park, in a meeting after the incident. “I guess I was lucky that I did not lose my eye.”
