Morissette named boys basketball coach at St. Thomas Aquinas

DOVER — A year after becoming the athletic director at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Dave Morissette will add another title to his resume.

Morissette will take over as head coach of the school’s boys basketball team, replacing Sean Murphy who led the Saints for the past seven seasons. Murphy resigned last month due to work.

Though Morissette appreciated Murphy’s contribution and what he has meant to the basketball program, Morissette thought it would be a perfect opportunity for him to get back into the game.

“Sean did a really good job for us this year and I was really looking forward to him coming back,” Morissette said. “When he decided that he couldn’t (coach) anymore, I just thought about it. I do miss the gym and I love working with kids. The opportunity presented itself, and I work with a great staff. They were all supportive and I decided to do it.”
