NEW CONCORD — The Muskingum University Athletic Department named Nathan Wahle to be the new men’s basketball head coach on Thursday.

Former coach Travis Schwab left to take the varsity boys basketball job with Newark Catholic earlier this year.

Wahle arrives in New Concord after serving one year as the assistant coach for the DePauw University men’s basketball program. He helped lead the Tigers to the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament Final Four during the 2021-22 campaign.

In addition to the postseason success, DePauw finished as an NCAA Division III statistical champion in free throw percentage, second in the conference in points per game allowed, and had a player named to CoSIDA’s Academic All-America team. Throughout this past season, Wahle was instrumental in recruiting efforts, opponent scouting, and individual player development for the Tigers.
