GM Hans Niemann won the week 24 Swiss of the Rapid Chess Championship presented by Coinbase.
Participating in the event were 39 competitors—open to all GMs as well as the top-10 women, top-10 juniors, as well as 10 wildcards. The knockout takes place on August 7, starting at 9 am PT / 6 pm CEST.
How to watch?
Niemann clinched clear first with an undefeated seven points. GM Jeffery Xiong won clear second with 6.5. There was a five-way tie for third between GMs Kirill Alekseenko, Samuel Sevian, Hikaru Nakamura, Le Liem, and Vladimir Fedoseev. Vugar Rasulov claimed the final qualification spot, finishing eighth with the top tiebreaks of players with 5.5.
