Santa Barbara High alum Bryce Warrecker was honored as the Outstanding Pitcher of the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer.
Warrecker went 4-1, struck out 35 in 39 innings and posted an ERA of 2.07 for the Orleans Firebirds in the collegiate wood-bat league in Massachusetts.
His strong season earned him the BFC Whitehouse Outstanding Pitcher Award.
A season highlight for the 6-foot-8 right-hander out of Cal Poly was pitching a perfect six innings of a combined no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Chatham on June 29. He struck out seven of the 18 batters he retired.
His longest outing was seven innings in a 9-1 victory over Yarmouth-Dennis on July 27. He allowed one run on four hits, walked one and struck out six.
Bryce Warrecker (@calpolystangs ’23 eligible) of @FirebirdsCCBL has been one of the Cape’s most dominant pitchers. Here’s his fastball, his changeup, and an overlay of the two to give you an idea of the nightmare at bat he presents to hitters. @warrecker pic.twitter.com/QG5z1r0Fl3

In his last game with Orleans, he went six innings and struck out five in a 6-4 win against Wareham on Aug. 2.
Warrecker was selected to the league’s All-Star Game. He struck out one batter in the one inning he pitched for the East team.
Warrecker was a three-time All-Channel League first-team selection in baseball at Santa Barbara. He also excelled in basketball, earning league MVP honors for two seasons and All-CIF-Southern Section and Cal-Hi All-State accolades.
The son of Lara and Wes Warrecker and the grandson of legendary Santa Barbara coach Fred Warrecker is going into his junior season at Cal Poly. He is expected to be in the starting rotation for the Mustangs.
The 10-team Cape Cod Baseball League draws collegiate players from all over the country for a 40-game regular season. There are several players in Major League Baseball who are CCBL alumni. They include Aaron Judge and Josh Donaldson of the New York Yankees, George Springer (Blue Jays), Charlie Blackmon (Rockies), AJ Pollock (White Sox) and Marcus Stroman (Cubs).
