Now that fans have gotten their first taste of NFL football thanks to the 2022 Hall of Fame Game, some might wonder if there are any NFL games today. Was the HOF game a one-shot deal, and how long will we need to wait until we get to see more NFL action?
Despite the Hall of Fame Game being played on Aug. 4, we have to wait a little bit longer for another live NFL game on our TV. Today, Sunday, Aug. 7, there are no NFL games being played. The good news is that starting on Thursday, Aug. 11, there are going to be plenty of NFL games.
Additionally, if you are desperate for more NFL action, HBO has you covered as the critically acclaimed series Hard Knocks returns on Aug. 9. Two days before the official start of the preseason, fans can watch Dan Campbell and his Detroit Lions as they progress through their 2022 training camp.
Wed Aug. 11, we will get our next two official preseason games. Then, for the next three weeks, there will be NFL games spread out Thursday through Sunday, with all 32 teams in action.
Outside of the national broadcasts, local networks will pick up some of the NFL preseason games. Should you want to watch all 49 2022 NFL preseason games or replay them, the newly launched NFL+ allows you to do so with a membership. You can also view most of these preseason games with streaming services like Vidgo or FuboTV.

When does the 2022 NFL regular season begin?
The 2022 NFL season starts on Thursday, Sept. 8, as the Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills in SoFi Stadium. For the second time in a row, the season will begin in the same stadium where it drew to a close.
After that first game, we have just three days to wait for more NFL action. There are 14 games spread between the three windows on Sunday, Sept. 11. The first Sunday of the NFL season concludes with the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a repeat of the 2021 NFL season opener.
There is then a single Monday Night Football game in Week 1, and it should certainly make for an interesting watch. Former Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson leads his Denver Broncos back into Seattle to take on the team that traded him away this offseason. The atmosphere in that game should be quite something to round out the first week of the season.
