2022-23 Men’s Golf Schedule is Announced


CONWAY, SC – Coastal Carolina University first-year men’s golf head coach Jacob Wilner has finalized the 2022-23 golf schedule, which includes four fall events followed by another six events in the spring season, highlighted by the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

“Our players and staff are very excited to get going this fall,” Wilner said. “This year’s schedule provides us with excellent competition, and we are ready to post some red numbers for Coastal Carolina men’s golf.”

The fall season will open with the Gopher Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn., on Sept. 11-12.

The Chants will continue the fall slate two weeks later at the JT Poston Invitational on Sept. 26-27. Western Carolina will serve as the host institution at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, NC CCU will follow that event up with the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Oct. 9-11, hosted by East Tennessee State University at the Blackthorn Club of the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tenn.

Coastal will end the fall schedule in the Palmetto State at the Furman Intercollegiate on Oct. 22-23. Furman University will once again host the annual event at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, SC

The spring slate begins at The Hayt on Feb. 5-6 at the Sawgrass Country Club in Point Vedra Beach, Fla., hosted by the University of North Florida.

The Chants will take a month-long break before traveling to Laredo, Texas to compete in the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club, hosted by the University of Houston.

Once again, the Dunes Golf and Beach Club will be the site of the popular and highly competitive General Hackler Championship. Some of the top programs in the nation will make their way to the Myrtle Beach course on March 13-14, with the Chanticleers serving as the proud host.

CCU will then make the short trip to Wilmington, NC, to play in the Seahawk Intercollegiate on March 26-27. UNC Wilmington will host the event at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington. The Chants will make another trip into North Carolina for the Stitch Intercollegiate set for April 7-8, hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Pool Golf Club.

The Chants will end the regular season with a trip to Bridgeport, W.Va., for the Mountaineer Invitational on April 17-18. The event, hosted by West Virginia University, will be played at the Pete Dye Golf Club.

The 2023 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Championship will take place on April 24-27 at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.
