High school sports get underway in Wayne County with girls golf

RICHMOND, Ind. — It’s August, and that means most high school sports are on the horizon. In fact, one of them is already back. As the calendar turned the page, the girls golf schedule began in Wayne County.

Here are results from the handful of rounds area girls golf teams put together Aug. 1-6:

Richmond shows promise to start season

The Red Devils, along with seven other schools, kicked off their season at the Richmond Invite on the first of the month. The hosts finished as runners-up with a team score of 371. Isabella Roll led the way with an 83, Lauren Freeman shot an 87, Zoe Brock shot an 88, Priya Hodges shot a 112 and Mariana Rivas shot a 135.
