New post box topper in Didcot with gymnastic theme

A NEW post box topper has popped up in Didcot after the previous memorial piece was “wrecked”.

“Yarnsy”, an anonymous post box topper crocheter, has designed a new topper in Broadway to replace the postman themed one which was in memory of Alan Dodd, a postman who worked in his home village of East Hagbourne and throughout Didcot.

However, the topper was removed earlier this week. Yarnsy eventually found the missing topper and described the incident as a “shame”.

The crocheter replaced the topper last night (9) with a gymnastic-themed creation.

A young girl can be seen doing the splits at the front of the box with four judges standing in the background holding up score cards with the number “10”.

Oxford Mail:

In a post left next to the creation, Yarnsy said: “Every champion was once a beginner. What better was for Alexys to prepare for her 8th birthday than practicing her gymnastics, who knows, maybe we have a budding competitor for the next commonwealth games on our hands.

“I think it’s safe to say the judges are impressed. Please be kind and leave this topper for everyone to enjoy.

Oxford Mail:

“If you have taken a shine to any of the elements of the topper, please reach out to Yarnsy via Facebook.”
