The Kentucky men’s basketball season is now underway, with the program holding its first practices last week and the countdown well underway for Big Blue Madness, which is set for Oct. 14 inside Rupp Arena.

Tickets for the event have sold out.

Underscoring this excitement was the return of the Big Blue Madness Campout over the weekend, which featured more than 100 tents set up outside Memorial Coliseum to get tickets to the annual event that serves as the kickoff for the UK men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

But this was also the start of an important series of recruiting weekends for Kentucky and the college basketball world at large.

The Cats are expected to host several key class of 2023 recruits for Big Blue Madness is two weeks’ time — including Aaron Bradshaw and DJ Wagner — and head coach John Calipari spent time late last week visiting a sophomore big man from Pennsylvania.

In addition, the weekend provided several recruiting updates on top players in upcoming classes, several of whom are high on Kentucky’s recruiting board.
