Brown Gymnastics Releases 2023 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Brown gymnastics team unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season on Thursday, which includes four home meets at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

The Bears will compete in nine regular season meets, including four dual meets, ahead of the second annual Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Championships, which will be hosted at the College of William & Mary.

“We are excited to announce our 2023 gymnastics schedule,” said Brown’s first-year head coach Brittany Harris. “Brown gymnastics achieved an incredible amount of success last season, and we are eager to build upon that success this year. Our preseason has been going great and we are looking forward to the start of our season in January.”

The season will get under way on Sunday, January 15 with a trip to Yale for a dual against the Bulldogs. The following weekend will feature a trip to the West Coast for a quad meet at Oregon State against the host Beavers along with Denver and Sacramento State.

“We are thrilled about our trip to Oregon State and getting to compete against Denver, a Big 12 school and Sacramento State, from the MSPF,” Harris said. “This will be an amazing meet for us full of great competition and high energy. In March, we will compete at the University of Maryland alongside Penn and the University of New Hampshire, which will be another fantastic trip for us as well. We have a very exciting schedule ahead that will be full of great opportunities for our student-athletes.”

The Bears will host three consecutive home meets starting with a tri-meet on Sunday, January 29 against Southern Connecticut State, Bridgeport and Rhode Island College. GEC foe Southern Connecticut will return to Pizzitola the following weekend on February 5 for a dual meet.

Brown will host its annual Senior Day and welcome back all alumni for Alumnae Day on February 12 for the team’s dual against Springfield College.

This season will serve as the school’s turn to host the annual Ivy Classic, a quad meet between the four Ivy League institutions of Brown, Cornell, Penn and Yale that will determine the Ivy League champion. The 2023 Classic is set for Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m

“We are looking forward to our fans experiencing the magic of the Pizzitola Sports Center, and there is no better feeling than competing in front of our hometown crowd,” Harris said.

The GEC Championships will take place between two sessions on Saturday, March 18 at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. At last year’s inaugural GEC Championships, Brown took second place overall while posting a school record 195,975 points with eight all-conference performances.

The USAG Nationals are set to take place from April 6-8 in Denton, Texas. Last year, Brown qualified for the team finals for just the third time in program history.
